Sandra Macenko Merkley
Director, Wealth Management & Senior Wealth Advisor
Sandra has been a part of ScotiaMcLeod’s Calgary office for over 25 years. She is passionate about excellence in financial services, and takes pride in helping families meet and exceed their long-term financial goals. Sandra is highly skilled in assisting clients with their retirement plans, as well as other wealth management services.
Sandra graduated with an Honours BA from Carleton University, later earning an MSc from the University of Toronto. Sandra recently served 3 terms on the Calgary Foundation Investment Committee and is a past board member of the EPCOR Centre for Performing Arts. In 2013, The Macenko Merkley Group became a proud sponsor of the Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Club.
In her spare time, Sandra enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, and photography. McDuff, the family’s West Highland Terrier, is always close by and ready for adventure.
Jessica Loewen has been working with Scotiabank since 2006. Providing excellent service for clients is Jessica's number one priority as she assists with the daily processing activities.
One of Jessica's most memorable past times is travelling, and she just recently got back from a six month backpacking tour of Europe with her husband. Jessica is also passionate about music, photography, and hiking.
Alex joined The Macenko Merkley Group in 2013. He began his career in the financial services industry after obtaining his B.A. in Economics from the University of Victoria in 2012. Having completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook.
Born and raised in Calgary, Alex is a competitive golfer having competed on the provincial and national levels. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, biking, working out and traveling.
Administrative Support Assistant
Alana has worked in administrative positions for several years, now contributing to the ScotiaMcLeod team as an Administrative Support Assistant while simultaneously pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a Major in Marketing from Mount Royal University. Alana is responsible for administrative and marketing tasks for The Macenko Merkley Group, and enjoys communicating with clients by phone and email. She excels in client service as well as organizational tasks such as meeting preparation and special event planning.
In her spare time, Alana enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, and going to the mountains.
Predrag (Pred) Ninkovich
Senior Financial Planning Consultant
Responsible for the development of customized, comprehensive financial planning solutions, Pred believes that ‘planning your financial future is more than just numbers; it is the people and dreams behind the figures that matter most.’ Prior to joining the Scotiabank Group in 2012, Pred worked as a Financial Consultant for another wealth management firm. He holds a Certified Financial Planner designation and is life licensed through the Alberta Insurance Council.
Maddy joined ScotiaMcLeod in June 2002, and has more than 13 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining ScotiaMcLeod, Maddy gained experience with another bank-owned wealth management firm.
Maddy’s mandate is to provide fully integrated insurance strategies that complement each client’s unique situation, helping them to achieve specific goals for growing, preserving and protecting their wealth. She is licensed in the provinces of Alberta and Ontario, and is currently working towards her CFP designation.
Senior Will & Estate Planner
Diane has been practicing law in Alberta since 1983 and works with our clients and families to plan their estate legacies to help ensure their goals are met in the most cost and tax effective manner. She is a graduate of the University of Alberta, with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Laws degree. Prior to joining the Scotiabank Group, Diane provided a variety of legal services as a member of small and medium sized law firms, where she most recently worked at a boutique tax law firm providing estate planning services to high net worth individuals and families.
Philanthropic Advisory Services
Malcolm leads philanthropic advisory services at the Scotiabank Group, where he advises clients on tax and philanthropic aspects of giving. Prior to joining Scotiabank Group in 2004, Malcolm worked in the charitable sector as a charitable gift planner for 13 years. He is a well-known speaker and writer on gift planning, and as a government relations volunteer, he has contributed to new tax rules for gifts of public securities and donation tax shelters.
